Growing up!

It seems like everyday Kaylyn is getting bigger and smarter! I can't believe it was only just a year ago that she rolled over for the first time. She really isn't a little baby anymore she is a little girl. I am reminded of her new found freedom and vocabulary everyday. Yesterday we were driving home and I noticed she pulled the ponytail out of her hair. She had the little elastic in her hand and I was afraid it would be in her mouth. I tried to grab it from her and not crash the car at the same time. She thought it was a fun game of keep away. This only became more frustrating for me and I asked her to please give me the rubberband her response was clear as day "NO". Umm...ok I have been dreading this day for a while. Lets just say I wasn't very thrilled I grabbed the rubberband and she is lucky I was in so much shock of what she said. I called Jeramie to tell him and all he could do was laugh. I have a feeling the best of her toddler years a still to come!! She really is a great little girl and I couldn't feel more blessed I can't wait to spend the summer with her!!

Treehouse Museum

My friend Marie and I took Kaylyn and her little girl Rowan to the Treehouse museum last weekend. It was a lot of fun but I was exhausted after chasing Kaylyn around for and hour and a half. I think she liked it and it makes me excited to take her there more as she gets bigger and can do more there. Here are some pictures from our day!

Easter

This technically wasn't Kaylyn's first Easter but really her first old enough to realize she had a basket full of goodies and that there was something interesting about picking plastic eggs up and putting them in a bucket. She then discovered there was candy hidden in the eggs and it was all any of us could do to keep her from taking other people's candy! I loved watching her have fun we had a great time this year!

California-Kaylyn's 1st Birthday!

We spent President's day weekend in California with my parents for Kaylyn's birthday. The weather was so awesome I just tried to soak up as much warmth as possible to store until we warm up here :( My dad took us to the Winternational race this weekend that was so much fun I have never seen anything as fast as some of those cars were it was amazing. My mom got to spend the whole day while we were at the race with Kaylyn. Sunday was Kaylyn's birthday party my parents went all out and it was a blast. Poor Kaylyn woke up that day with a stomach bug and we had to work the events of the party around her we all felt so bad, but she was such a trooper you would never know she was sick by the look on her face while she ate her cake and openend her presents. The next day we planned to spend some time down by the beach because it was around 80 degrees but the plan came to an end when I realized Kaylyn had shared her stomach bug with me. My poor family hung out all day while I tried to sleep it off before I had to get on the plane that night. At the airport Jeramie discovered he wasn't feeling well and by the time we landed he had it too :( We share really well in our family! (My mom ended up sick also.) Even though it ended kind of rough we all had a great time and we wouldn't have wanted to spend Kaylyn's 1st birthday any other way! Thanks to my parents for the weekend it was awesome, we can't wait to visit again!

Mmm...cookies!

Kaylyn is just like her parents...addicted to sweets! This is our little darling after eating an oreo cookie. Let's just say she needed a bath after all was said and done. I can't believe she is almost a year old!
